We've been more-or-less stuck in this harbor all week. The weather has been fairly dreadful, as predicted, but we're really here because there's the one Spectra watermaker certified repair shop in the entire northeast in town here, and we'd made an appointment with them 3 weeks ago to have them fix our watermaker this week. And now that we're here, every day they've put us off until later and saying "maybe next week", and at this point I assume this isn't going to happen. So that's frustrating.
We've been making the best of things in the meantime -- Hannah's been poling on the boat when the wind and rain isn't too horrible, we've gone into town a few times to go get some dinners, and tonight we got amazing ice cream after some mediocre Indian food. So, all in all, not the worst, but really frustrating to be the victim of yet another horribly-run marine industry company. In case you're ever thinking of using NorEast Marine Systems -- just do yourself a favor and do something more productive with your time, like skipping rocks.
We're going to give them a call in the morning just to verify that there's no chance of them doing the work that day (Friday), and then we're going to head out towards Martha's Vineyard. We're going to spend the next week down there before heading up towards Boston for some upcoming travel.
